about hillary clinton clip. no surprise there, but media can't get enough of anthony weiner as more details emerge from his sordid behavior. a conservative paper takes aim at fox news with comparison to the kkk. that got reaction from the king of cable. >> i'm not going to let this go. >> jon: and teen sensation justin beiber takes a hit for being pro-life. >> jon: on the panel this week, judy miller, columnist john concha and ellen ratnor and fox news contributor richard grenell. i'm jon scott. fox news watch is on right now. "fox news watch" is on right now. with this endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals
the point with the endless distraction of political posturing. >> endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals. >> so far. endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals. we keep on shifting away, shifting our attention what we should be focused on. >> jon: the president as you can see there trying to hammer on his theme he has a plan that republicans and distractions are getting in his way. so what are the phony scandals? >> in the speech you did yesterday, president obama mentioned the phony scandal that has is part of the endless parade, can you tell us what phony scandals he is talking about? >> i think there was period, a lot more energy and focus
was paid by some in congress as well as in the media on issues that while important are not of the highest priority of the american people. >> jon: all right. what about phony scandals. how do you define them. jim, president keeps repeating the line? >> i think it's the jedi mind trick. it's working for them but there are some strange eruptions of curiosity. for example, jake tapper reported there was dozens of c.i.a. operatives in benghazi last year. there was out of the narrative. this emerging discovery of the relentless campaign for obama campaign to sit on the story. cnn had the story and to see if they can pick it up. >> jon: there is nothing to see and move along kind of trick? >> absolutely. this week was very bad in terms of distractions for the
obama administration because irs. when you start polly graphing c.i.a. agents once a week, the normal pattern is about three to five years for a polygraph. it suggests a leak of classified information you are getting into territory that clearly makes this administration uncomfortable. that obama doesn't want to explore. that suddenly makes this issue a scandal. >> jon: you are no supporter of what the white house does. they seem to suggest that the irs targeting conservative groups was not a scandal, benghazi was not a scandal. is he right? >> he did his interview, first interview with the "new york times" in three years. i'm talking about the president. he would not have done it if this was not beginning to affect his base. some of these quote, unquote,
phony scandals. you have people like from the new republic talking about larry summers and what is going on with that. i am telling you this is beginning to affect the base and that is a problem. >> jon: a piece of tape on the doorway to democratic headquarters might have been considered a phony scandal back in the day. nobody died in watergate. four people died in benghazi. that is line we've heard. cnn justify is a turning point. it woke the scandal back up again. it put back the focus there have been no arrests in that attack. for viewers who don't know cnn interviewed a guy who is wanted as potentially a suspect and "new york times" did right after the attack he was having a fuzzy navel at a cafe and benghazi is no-fly zone. president once sounded like o.j., we're going to track down the real killers, unless they are behind the 17th green. it ain't happening yet.
>> jon: on president obama's grand bargain, he claims he has a plan, but republicans keep blocking him and maybe these distractions keep getting in the way? >> i think this was a big turning point this week. the whole phony scandal comment from the white house and president was a real overplay. you saw a lot of reporters begin to say, wait a minute. not all reporters but mark murray who is a political editor for nbc news is one of those that constantly duped by the obama administration and specifically on this story where he offered up what was supposedly a new plan on the economy. what we saw was it was a campaign speech, nothing new except mark murray jumped immediately here we go again. white house is making another concession and g.o.p. is blocking it yet again. what we don't see from mark
murray that his wife was for obama and nbc has people out in front the administration and not getting called on it. >> jon: on the irs scandal, john fund from the national review noted this week that obama's admonition that we ignore the scandals has been picked up by many elite media supporters. as any journalist that has followed the trajectory of scandals knows that sex behavior is a clue those looking into the irs scandal may be getting warm? >> it was a brilliant piece. this is an example where the reality is catching up. another one is the reporters scandal. ask james rosen if he thinks they are phony or not. the example that the media under covered the stories, the house judiciary committee had a huge report on the reporter stuff and got almost no attention.
